Exclusive : 2011 Makara Jyothi Spotted @ Sabarimalai Ayyappan Temple
SABARIMALA: Thousands of devotees turned up for worship at the hill shrine here during the ‘Makara Samkrama puja’ this evening, marking the finale of two-month-long pilgrimage to the famous Lord Ayyappa temple.
As the ‘Makara Jyoti’, held as a divine light by the devotees, flickered across the eastern horizon above the Ponnambalamedu after the puja, the holy hillock and the foothill Pampa reverberated with chants of “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa”.
